TBL2 finale update -- November 29

We have a $250,000 winner, a $100,000 winner, and plenty of "losers." These people learned from Season 1: Keep going after you leave. We had 3 of the 14 contestants lose 46% of their starting weight. And 4 more lost above 40%, with 4 more losing over 30%. Yes, Matt won the big prize (no surprise) and Pete won the big prize among the non-contenders. But let's look at some of the highlights under the radar. . .
Caroline had the twins in pretty good form, but why her hair had to weigh that much is a little frightening. Her hair is normally a fairly simple creation, but last night, it was high, huge and a bit distracting. Caroline, I like you a lot, so here's my advice: Get a clause in your contract that prohibits them for doing that to you. And give the twins more breathing room. Pete lost 185 lbs. and his wife lost 70. Given Matt's wrestling background (and ability to lose weight), Pete is "the biggest winner" in my mind. As the heaviest man there, he had the potential "Maurice" stigma. But he worked hard at it, and deserves a lot of credit. Pete lost 98 lbs. AFTER leaving the ranch. Amazing!! I know Jillian is in shape, better shape than I will ever be. But her attempts at cleavage are not nearly as attractive as she thinks it is. Maybe there are some things I don't need to know. Nick did not show up. No surprise. It feels real because sometimes people will drop out. He had potential to lose weight, and did pretty well while there. But his long-term drive wasn't there. Nick is not on the chart. He came in weighing 346 pounds. He left the ranch at 305 for an 11.8% weight loss. Speaking of that, why was Kathryn there? Here's a woman who was eliminated early, got virtually no applause in the beginning, and here's the clincher: lost 0 lbs. since leaving. Didn't she know she was going to back on TV? Nick might be huge right now, but he has probably lost more weight since than Kathryn did. By contrast, Ruben, the first one gone, had something to prove. He even said the next time we see him, he'd be at 210 pounds. Actually, he was 197 lbs. See Kathryn: you can be unpopular among the group and still lose weight.
The game was "how much did you lose overall?" But I wondered how well the final three did away from home.
Matt left the ranch at 230 pounds, and lost 48 more pounds to 182 lbs. He lost 20.87% of his ranch weight. Suzy had the second best post-ranch percentage at 18.01%. She left the ranch at 161 pounds, and lost 29 pounds to 132 lbs. Seth left the ranch at 204 pounds, and lost 36 pounds to 168 lbs. His percentage was 17.65%.
Here is the final chart. Contestants are ranked by overall percentage. The "Ranch" figure is their weight when they left. Obviously, some stays there were limited. For inspiration, look at what they lost when reality sets in, and temptations are everywhere. Thanks for reading the updates. Enjoy and keep losing weight.
